bayonetting the wounded

(verb) The act of waking up, espically in the late morning or any portion of the afternoon, and finishing off any alcoholic beverege remains from the previous, exceptionally drunken, evening.

Why is this phrase such a perfect explaination of the incident it refers to? Well, to bayonett a wounded person is paradoxically both wicked and compassionate. On the one hand, the dude is already hurting, and to bayonett him/her (for all you politicaly correct assholes) is essentually just kicking him/her while he/she is down. On the other hand, if you kill a wounded party by bayonetting him/her one could liken it to putting a hurt race horse out of its misery.

As you gather up those cups/glasses/cans/bottles the next day, it is safe to assume you're hurting similarly to the afore mentioned wounded dude (I refuse to add dudette even if I am being politically incorrect). On the one hand, more beer/liquer/wine/mixed drink/anything containing alcohol (shit, even NyQuill) will aleviate your shakes/headache/feeling of impending death. On the other, you'll just get drunk again, only this time on something room temperature that is likely to contain backwash of friends, people you pretend to be friends with even though they're irritating, people you have never met, but somehow have been in your house numerous times, that slut who was getting laid in your bathroom, the neighbor's dog, and quite possibly, your mom, and postpone the incredible discomfort.
I woke up with my shoes on and stumbled, still somewhat intoxicated, to the bathroom. On my way back to bed from the kitchen, where I had gone for a much-neededglass of water, I found a homeless man sleeping on my couch. I immediately realized that sobering up would be nothing more than a colassal exercise in futility, and proceeded to trade my water for the nearest leftover booze. I spent the remainder of my afternoon and evening bayonetting the wounded with some homeless dude whom I've never seen again.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The first zelda game for the nintendo switch, it has gotten 10/10's on more than 10 websites, though it does have flaws, much like the ending, it is a universally acclaimed game.

Its open world allows you to defeat the final boss with nothing but a sword, that means no pants or shirt if you so please.

It is considered the greatest zelda game in all of nintendo's history, seconded to only ocarina of time.
It does have a counterpart though, that being Horizon zero - out of ten - dawn, the similarities are that they are both open world games, have bows and robots, but thats where the similarities end.
Hey dude! Wanna play that new The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? I heard its awesome!
Pffft, that overhyped trash, its like a downscaled version of horizon zero dawn!
Dude, horizon has no similarities to breath of the wild, plus this one has 10/10's on everything
Says the nintendo fanboy!

follow the white rabbit

Refers to a waistcoat-wearing, pocket-watch-wielding white rabbit, hurrying along and muttering, "Oh dear! I shall be late!" in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland (1865), whom Alice follows down a rabbit hole into Wonderland.

Awesome rock band Jefferson Airplane's 1967 song White Rabbit retold the story of Alice's adventures as though they were a psychedelic drug trip. But whether you take it literally or metaphorically, following the white rabbit means following an unlikely clue, an innocuous, unbelievable (but also, frankly a bit ridiculous) sign, to find oneself in the midst of more or less extraordinary, marvelous, amazing circumstances that challenge one's fundamental beliefs, expand one's horizons &/or perception of realities, transform one's perspective, and change one's life.

The phrase has become commonplace in popular culture; e.g. in the 1999 film The Matrix, the resistance fighter folks use the trope of following a white rabbit to lead Neo/Mr Anderson/The One out of the matrix. Oddly enough, though, the phrase hasn't filtered through as a metaphor in non-fantastical contexts to any appreciable degree. Outside of science fiction or fantasy, if a writer refers to the white rabbit, s/he is almost certainly specifically alluding to previous uses, usually to Carroll. (We should change that!)
'There's something fishy going on here.'
'Well,' said Q, jerking her head toward the door to the stairwell, through which the tattooed woman was disappearing. 'You'd better follow the white rabbit, then.'
