lager

Any bottom-fermenting ale. Although the term is used now to refer exclusively to light-coloured German- and Scandinavian-style beers, Lager was not light coloured until Urquell produced their Pilsener Beer in 1868. Until then, all lagers were a darkish colour and a sweeter flavour.

Interestingly, Pilsener is now a term applied to beer that doesn't meet strict Northern European purity standards and cannot be called lager.

Also used with a modifier (-lout) to describe the behaviour of young (usually) men after cosuming large amounts of this very drinkable beer. This usage may now be archaic, being largely an invention of the British tabloid press in the 1980's.
"Pint of lager please, mate."

Lakers Historian

A basketball fan who is specifically a supporter of the NBA team the Los Angeles Lakers, and wears their jersey at any game outside of Los Angeles of a rival team who are facing the Lakers that night, but do not know any of the current members of the team.

An off-breed of the Sports Asshole (who only shows up to games to boo the home team for fun), Lakers Historians are identified by wearing the jersey of a player who used to play for the franchise but no longer does. (i.e. Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ) These specific markings (or names and numbers) are a sign that they're fans of what the team used to be in their glory days and don't keep up with who is on the team now while they're terrible. Hence, why they're not identified as a regular "Lakers Fan".

They're also not to be confused as an actual Basketball Historian, who cares about the history of the game as a whole, and not what one team did in three specific time periods.
Fred: Why's that guy wearing a Lakers jersey to a Jazz game?
Craig: Oh, he's just a Lakers Historian. Check it, he's wearing #8.

Shell Lake

Shell Lake is a very small town in northwest Wisconsin, and is the county seat of Washburn County. The lake provides some of the only activities available, such as canoeing, inner-tubing, water skiing, swimming, fishing, and ice fishing. Shell Lake houses the Museum of Woodcarving, which is frequented only by boyscouts and non-residents. Shell Lake is also home to the Shell Lake Arts Center (formerly the Indianhead Arts Center), a music and arts camp that has existed over 35 years.

There is only one high school in Shell Lake, and that building contains grades 3-12 (made possible by the fact that each grade has fewer than 50 people). Grades pre-k through 2 are all in Shell Lake Primary School.

As of the 2000 census, there were 1,309 people residing in the city and the population density was 211.3 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the city was 98.62% White, 0.08% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.08% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.99% of the population.
