corner hit

When two people throw down on a bowl (if this ever happens) or when two people just want green hit, one person calls corner hit. Then the person who hits it first only hits the corner of the bowl and passes the bowl to the other person who wanted green hit and they hit the other corner.

person 1: Hey, man, I want green hit, too.
person 2: I'll save you corner hit.

cut corners

Originally used in travel terminology, as "to take a shortcut" (ie, pass by the corners, since cutting along any alternative path is faster than going all the way round the damn corner).

Used more frequently to mean skipping the hard stuff, use the easy way.

Exercise? You're kidding me, right?
I'd much rather cut corners and just get liposuction on this flab o' mine.

If you cut corners in school, you'll never learn the entire shitload.

cut corners

When you have to do something, and in order to finish it faster you leave some parts out. This is usually negative and associated with cheating.

The history report was due on Monday so Maya cut corners by leaving out the time line.

Robert was supposed to run around the entire track but he cut corners by taking a shortcut and not going around the corners. (I believe this is where the term is derived from)
