* The closer one looks at a coastline, the longer it gets.

2. Getting repeatedly lost/tangential while speaking and never completing a thought or idea. Often the result of being high.

West Virginia coaster

1. A small stack of 4 or 5 Post-it® notes placed under a cold drink to prevent condensation rings from forming on a surface.

2. A folded paper towel, piece of paper or any other object that is not a coaster used as a makeshift drink coaster.

I'm a broke ass college student. I don't have any real coasters. Hand me those Post-it® notes. I'll make you a West Virginia coaster real quick.

The region of America at the geographical and cultural center of its Atlantic coast. Sometimes referred to as the "DMV"(DC-Maryland-Virginia). It is home to countless diverse groups while being the country's capital for political decisions, understandably creating problems. Stylistically named by the area's burgeoning rap scene. See "MEC"

conaster n from Latin cum, with + Greek astron, star - literally with star, the exact antonym to disaster; the fortunate outcome of an almost imminent disaster; the sensation of a catastrophe narrowly averted and later remembered from the vantage point of safety.

There were several conasters in my life that I cannot recall without thanking God for his undeserved mercy.

1. A person who lives in the city of Palm Coast Florida, who constantly complains about the city they live in.

2. A person who was raised in the city of Palm Coast Florida, who does nothing to further themselves in life, or even try to get out of this so called "lame" town of Palm Coast.

3. A person who moved to the city of Palm Coast Florida, who didn't do ANY research about the area, and blames everyone but themselves for not liking the city THEY decided to move to.

4. A person who lives in the city of Palm Coast Florida, who completely disregards the beauty in the 52 square miles of Palm Coast, all because they don't like their neighbors.

5. A person who lives in the city of Palm Coast Florida, who complains about the lack of jobs in Palm Coast, disregarding the fact they have an IQ of 55 and are barely qualified to flip burgers.

6. A person who lives in the city of Palm Coast Florida, and spends their time on Urban Dictionary & other online places complaining about the city of Palm Coast, instead of actually trying to make the city or their own lives any better.

The Golden Compass

Noun:

1. The first book in the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman.

2. An object of the same name or alethiometer (literally Truth-Measure) within said book. It is used by Lyra (the protaganist) to find truth and meaning throughout her journey. It resembeles a large golden-colored pocketwatch with three knobs on it's rim. It opens to reveal an ornate circle with 36 distinct symbols at it's edge with three large hands and one small hand which move around it. Each symbol has a series of meanings which, when held in one's mind may pose as a question or an answer. The big hands move to form your question with the knobs and the little hand moves to give the answer.

Very like a clock, or a compass, for there were hands pointing to places around the dial, but instead of the hours or the points of the compass there were several little pictures, each of them painted with the finest and slenderest sable brush.
