To set up everything completely, precisely, and perfectly. Usually relating to something mechanical or creative. The phrase comes from tuning engines. Mechanics set contact points for the electrical system of the engine and then "dial in" the timing so it will run perfectly.

If we're going to take the whole engine apart, let's get some new parts and dial it in before we put it back together.

Can also be used in other tenses and variations like:

I'm going to dial in that letter to my landlord before I send it out.

That bike needs to be dialed in before we take it to the track.

I was dialing it in yesterday so that it would be ready for the trip.

deuce-dialing

Talking on your cell, or texting whilst taking a dump. Then after finishing said dump, taking a picture of your poop with the cell and sending it to the friend you were texting/speaking to. Note: contrary to what many believe, deuce-dialing is not merely the act of talking/texting while pooping, but taking and sending a picture of the aftermath. No picture and you're merely having a conversation while you poop, not deuce-dialing.

You are talking to your friend while taking a dump. After the end of the conversation, you hang up, take a photo of the crap, and send it along to him/her. Congratulations, you're "deuce-dialing".

fat finger dialing

A telephone scam in which a company sets up a toll number that is one digit different than a popular number, so that the company earns money when customers accidentally mis-dial the legitimate number; mis-dialing a phone number in this manner.

"Shit, man -- I dialed 1-800-COILECT last night and totally got scammed."
"Dude, you need to stop fat finger dialing."
