These can standalone comedic moments (e.g. someone unexplainably using lazer vision, only for them to never use it again), single appearance characters (e.g. Arale Norimaki annihilating Vegeta out of nowhere despite his godly training in Dragon Ball Super), or be permanently applied to main characters (e.g. Saitama being completely overpowered compared to everyone else for seemingly no reason in One Punch Man). After Nicki Minaj said on one of her "Queen Radio" shows that her new era will take her fans to "Gag City", the phrase was popularized on Stan Twitter. It combines the LGBTQ+ slang term "gag", meaning "to be heavily excited or amused", with city. Gag city is now regarded as a fantasy land filled with all things pink, Barbie, and Nicki Minaj. Many Twitter users make Nicki Minaj-themed-AI images of this place and have special accounts dedicated to creating the lore of Gag City.
