forced reps

A method of weight training in which a partner helps a lifter to continue training beyond their normal limit of fatigue. When the lifter has completed the number of repetitions that causes fatigue, the partner physically assists the lifter to perform more repetitions (usually three to five more). This is believed to stimulate the growth of muscles and improve strength.

I got to 7 reps as fatigue set in, it's an odd number to finish on, so my partner helped me do some forced reps that took me up to 12 reps.

Ford Country Squire

An iconic American station wagon that was characterized by it's large size, comfort, towing power, and signature faux-wood panels meant to emulate Woodies from the 40s and 50s. It was the top-of-the line station wagon built by Ford from 1951 to 1991. It was based on the Fairlane, Galaxie, and LTD line over the course of its history. Country squires are highly collected, especially the classics that were made before the mid-70s. They are fairly hard to find today, despite being a common site in virtually every suburban town in America in the 60s and 70s.

The Country squire was always amongst the biggest, heaviest passenger cars of every model year. Their size reached a peak in the mid-70s. They were fitted with huge V8 engines ranging from a standard 351 windsor to a beastly 460 (7.5L) V8 that was the largest engine ever mass produced. The big engines were choked by emissions requirements starting in the early 70s and got atrocious gas milage.

(Disclaimer, I own a Country Squire, and I believe it to be the most badass car ever built.)

The Ford Country Squire is driven by the family in Harry and the Hendersons.

The O'Doyle Family from Billy Madison own a Ford Country Squire and drive it off a cliff toward the end of the movie.

The "Family Truckster" from National Lampoons Vacation is a heavily modified Country Squire.

The squirrel lit his nappy little tail up in the firedirt. We used the firedirt to light George's smart ass on fire. Our neighbor let his firedirt get out of hand and lit the woods up like a roman candle in a corn field.

Ford Aerostar

Fords first minivan. First introduced in 1986, it was built on a truck platform shared with the F-150 and had rear wheel drive and a 6 cyl engine. In 1989 a longer wheel based model was offered, as was 4WD in 1990, and in 1992 the front end was restyled with composite headlights, a new grill, and a drivers side airbag.

The bodystyle remained the same from the day it was introduced until it was axed in '97. Though popular at first with soccer moms in the 80's, it's chunky ugly body style got out-dated in the 90's. Alot of Aerostars built after '94 went to fleet companies.

My Mother had a '92 Ford Aerostar in the 90's, and as crappy as it was, it was roomy, comfortable, and could smoke a 4 banger Dodge Caravan anyday with it's 6 cyl.

The Model T was a bag of shit, but it started a worldwide revolution.
