Short answer towards people that try to deny or relativize (often political) facts. Usually people that try to justify their view are part of the people that are negatively affected or try to look for excuses to make themselves feel better, but should just learn to cope with reality.
Often used in conjunction with "seethe" and "dilate" and generally exclusive to the conservative political spectrum.

A: "Women are not being treated as equals, we are marginalized by patriarchy!"
