Soulaa/Soulaanian is a demonym commonly associated with people of African descent who were victims of chattel-slavery in the USA. Other names Soulaa people go by: "African American", "Black American", "Foundational Black American (FBA)", "Afro-American", "Freedmen", "Afram", and "Aframic".

This demonym (Soulaa/Soulaanian) is used to create a line between Africans, Caribbeans, and African Americans so that the three do not get mixed up, because Africans, or Caribbeans that have moved to the USA, and are not descendants of the American enslaved can technically be referred to as "African American" also, but this has stirred tons of controversy.

The Soulaa/Soulaanian is derived from African Americans culture, which is the soul culture.

Example: Soul music, and Soul food, etc...

My Grandfather is a Soulaa/soulaanian.
