A plummer's paradox is a situation that, upon first inspection, appears to be paradoxical, but in fact is not at all.
Ex:
"After she broke her jaw in that car accident, she couldn't chew, and could barely swallow. But she didn't starve; to the contrary she was well fed. What a paradox!"
"Ah, you mean a plummer's paradox. Of course, they kept her tube-fed."

Hotel's room service is the perfect example of hospitality paradox: Imagine when you're experimenting with sex and your room service rang the bell: you'll be panicked since you're afraid they report you for indecent behaviour

10/10 alpha male: What the fuck dude, you should work out and go on a diet like I did 5 years ago. I lost so much weight, I now have abs & bitches.
0/10 beta fat fuck: Fuck off dickhead, have you never heard of the obesity paradox? I have a much better & healthier life than you. I can hide the remote in my tummy and my wife washes my dick for me once every 2 months.

Paradoxical ebullience is the unfounded belief in Black progress in the face of socioeconomic counterevidence. The gap between Black relative socioeconomic position and their racial attitudes. The thesis of paradoxical ebullience argues that Blacks’ understanding of Black group interests, including their worsening socioeconomic position, has shifted those interests from the collective to the individual, and the method to achieve those interests has shifted from protest politics to electoral politics. Additionally, paradoxical ebullience supposes that these trends have political ramifications for Blacks that lead to negative economic consequences. In short, attitudes that are incongruent with Blacks’ reality limit their collective political will to address their worsening economic position and jeopardize policies that provide economic benefits for Blacks.
BIPOC who are excessively optimistic about the future in the face of racial and other forms of oppression suffer from paradoxical ebullience.
