Vendofuck

Vendofuck - referring to a specific technique used by robots in their multilayered "War On Humans”. Designed as an act of psychological terrorism, the robots intend to break the morale of the humans by promising to dispense delightful snack foodstuffs at reasonable prices only to renege on the deal at the last moment. The failure to honor the implied contract may manifest itself in differing ways including the denial of said foodstuffs, or delivering an alternative item of much lower appeal (e.g. Andy Capp’s Hot Chili Cheese Fries).

Palos Verdes

The town in which tennis moms meet for coffee at Starbucks and exchange the latest gossip, CEO fathers head off to work every morning in their designer suits carrying Italian leather suitcases, and teenagers in fancy cars, with music turned all the way up, drive to the top of the hill to start a new day of classes and social interactions. A place of cliffside mansions, localized surf spots, and an unnecessary number of golf courses. City council has control over how tall trees get, whether or not street lights are allowed, and the new pool in your backyard.

We have a view ordinance so that the neighbors below us canot grow trees that will block our 180 degree view of Catalina, there are no street lights in my neighborhood. I live above the Donald Trump golf course.

Verbose boot

1. When a Mac (or Linux) user boots his/her computer in verbose boot mode. Like iDevice verbosity, except a bit less-filled with crap on the screen, and more juicy info. Mac users, hold down Command (/Apple) + V, Linux users, remove the -splash flag from your kernel boot string.(through the bootloader)

2. When after you've jailbroken (See jailbreaking your iDevice you use redsn0w to set it to verbose boot, so you can watch your iDevice load all it's settings and fuctions while it loads. Or, for debugging if something goes wrong and it won't boot. Highly useful.

Quite amusing, or even scary at times for friends.

Person 1: *walks into room and sees Person 2's Mac verbose booting*
Person 1: Whoah wtf omg what happened to your computer!?
Person 2: It's a verbose boot.

Apple Store Rep: ..Ok, so what's wrong with it?
Apple Customer: It won't boot
Apple Rep: Well then let me take a look at it. *Presses power button and screen is filled with verbose text*
