Oromo

The Oromo (Oromo: Oromoo) are an ethnic group found in Ethiopia, in northern Kenya, and to a lesser extent in parts of Somalia. With 30 million members, they constitute the single largest ethnic group in Ethiopia and approximately 34.49% of the population according to the 2007 census. Their native language is Oromo (also called Afaan Oromoo and Oromiffa), which is part of the Cushitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family.

The Oromo were formerly called Galla by non-Oromo Ethiopians, and one may encounter this name in older texts, but it is considered a pejorative term.

Literally means "maiden" in Japanese. It is also the partial name of a popular shoujo anime sequel: "Mai-Otome." The original being Mai-HiME.

The term "otome" is also slowly being integrated as a new way of referring to a ramped anime/manga fangirl. It's a more specific and updated version to the current otaku label (which has been grossly misinterpreted in the States).

"That girl's a MAJOR otome! She's got over 80 manga!"

Otomenorrhagia

Medical condition referring to the pain and sensation your ears will start bleeding as a result of listening to someone's constant talking and is accentuated by their voice quality (ie nasally, high pitch, or heavy accent) or your own physical compromise such as a hangover.

I partied real hard last night and had to take a small plane home but I couldn't rest because the lady sitting right behind me didn't shut up, had an annoying voice which gave me otomenorrhagia.
