(kikai means machine) the greatest SHOW in the entire universe! its about this android who wants to become human. he falls in love with a human named mitsuko(i think that's how it's spelled) gill(the bad guy) is trying to destroy jiro/kikaider, cuz he has a concsience circuit that allows him to think and have feelings. he plays a guitar and rides in this awesome kick-ass motorcycle thingy. overall, its a really great anime show, and it actually has a plot, instead of fighting and blowing things up. although the fight scenes are pretty nifty.
i've never missed a single episode of kikaider. if not, i'll have a nervouse breakdown. HE'S SO HOT:) but he's not real*tear*

It is because of Jiro's concious circuit. It is also an anime and manga. The manga has not yet been translated for the American fans yet.
