The Heartagram was originally created as a logo by the self described "Love Metal" band HIM. It combines a heart with a pentagram, and according to band members, represents the juxtaposition of love and hate/anger, or life and death. The symbol is sported as a tattoo by many HIM fans, including professional skater and "Jackass" stuntman Bam Margera.

Get the HeartaGrammug. The heartagram is a symbol of life and death, and love and hate. It was invented by Ville Valo, lead singer of HIM (also known as His Infernal Magesty). Ville describes it as a ying yang sort of symbol. It is a mix between a pentagram and a heart (NO TRIANGLES HERE DUDES!!).
Pentagram + Heart= Heartagram
Heart + Triangle + Circle= NO IDEA!!!! BUT ITS NOT A HEARTAGRAM!!!!!!!

Get the Heartagrammug. the heartagram is the sign of the great band HIM, the design itself came from ville playing round with the logo of an independent hospital chain in finland, the thing ended out as a penta-hearta thang and then it was tweaked a bit to make the heartagram, although it wasnt until later in the bands life that it was realised that there needed to be a circle round it like with a pentagram

Get the Heartagrammug. A symbol created by Ville Valo of the band His Infernal Majesty (H.I.M.).
It is formed by merging a Pentagram with a Heart.
Thus, the juxtaposition of Heaven and Hell; Life and Death; Love and Hate; Good and Evil.

Get the Heartagrammug. Ok I love how all you idiots argue over what this sign is when none of of you are right. The sign was created by Ville Valo (lead singer of H.I.M) on his twentieth birthday. Described by Valo, the sign is a modern yin/yang, like good and evil together. Now, about Bam Margera. He loves the band and is good friends with Ville, so he got a few tattoos of heartagrams. Then he started using it as his "sign" and selling products with it on it. After he started making money off of it, he needed a licence on it. But, he didn't invent it. So, TOGETHER, Bam and Valo got a license/trademark on it. It belongs to both of them, so no need to argue anymore.

Get the Heartagrammug. one day the singer for HIM decided to use the idea of a yinyang, and a pagan/witchcraft (not satanist to anyone who is an idiot) symbol. took enough of the pentagram out so it was a triangle, then added a heart (its a heart with a triangle idiots, if it was a pentagram with a heart you'd still see the full star with a heart on top of it -_- )
there you go.
there you go.
the heartagram is a mix of a heart and a very misinterperated symbol (altough satanist did copy using the pentagram)
