If you tip a drink, it’s over

In an already dangerous or risky situation, something which makes your position even more dangerous.

This phrase comes from accidentally spilling drink on your iPhone/Samsung could short-circuit. Nowadays, people’s lives are their phone and it can be as if you lost apart of you.

I.E. Losing Control

To work on a task or project while inebriated, only to realize later that quality of the work was severly impaired, as were you.

He refinished the floor only to realize that he'd drunk did it. It would have to be done over again.
