'Coming out of the coffin' is a term used to describe the experience of a person, typically, but not always, a male who has previously been highly critical, who professes his undying love and admiration for all things Twilight. He publicly and proudly confesses that he has read the books, seen the movies, can answer any trivia question, wants to dress like Edward for Halloween (and any other holiday), and really wants to visit Forks, Washington on vacation.

He could no longer lie to his friends, and excuse his presence at yet another Twilight movie premier by blaming it on his girlfriend. He was coming out of the coffin.

Said smuggly or sataricly when discussing the drama in the gothic scene

Rachael broke up with Cinder, now Cinder won't come out of his apartment, I'm really worried about him, he just plays the Cruxshadow cover of "Here Comes The Rain Again" over and over and over... But anyway, Rach says that Cinder cheated on her with Alize, but Alize I know didn't do that, because we were having sex that night, so it couldn't have been Cinder and Alize. Personally I think it's just because Alize didn't invite Rach, but rather Cinder to the Bauhaus concert way back in 1996 durring the Gotham tour, but they weren't even dating back then, so I don't really know what her problem is.

As the coffin turns I guess...

When someone is a metalhead but hasn't told anyone yet.
It's used similarly to In the closet, but it's more metal.

Newfound metalheads fear being ostracized by their friends and family for not adhering to what is commonly considered a "normal music taste". They can spend years in the coffin as a result.

Please help fight this horrible guilt they feel inside and preach for #metalacceptance

Prime Rib: "Good to see you, how are 'ya?"
Striploin: "Kinda something I want to talk to you about, actually."
