Taffy Pockets

Slang; cheap, broke.
The act of placing your hands in your pockets to grab money yet your hands never come out. Almost as if your hands are stuck inside your pockets - hence, taffy pockets.

Our whole family went out for dinner tonight to catch up on old times. Once the bill came uncle Mark came down with a case of taffy pockets. Grandma ended up paying the whole bill.

Taffer

As mentioned previously, it is a word invented by Looking Glass Studios and originally saw its introduction in Thief: The Dark Project.

However, what the previous poster failed to note, is its additional use in later releases as "an expletive sounding of British origin." Quite frankly, only one word in the modern vernacular is versatile enough to take its place: The F Word.
