stitch up

A set up, a trick. If someone stitches you up, then they're playing you for a fool. It's often used when framing someone for a crime.

"I don't believe it, Dave! I was at home all night, I swear! I'm being stitched up!"

Shutchyafanoff

A three-worded command, 'Shut your fan off' all rolled into one to make it easier to say while walking down the hall past bedrooms of a house. It's a command our landlord uses at an attempt to save $0.25 on her monthly electric bill, to prevent us from using our fans. This usually happens on a 95+ degree day when there's no air conditioning or breeze to offer relief.

Landlord: "Shutchyafanoff!"
Me: "Aw, come on, its so hot! I'm absolutely roasting in here!
Landlord: "Tough! In my day we didn't have fans, as electricity hadn't been invented yet!"
Me: "This isn't fair!"
