Necessary Counter-reality

Counter-reality that is required to counter false accusations or expose absurd positions—a defensive necessity in debates where opponents invent positions for you. Necessary Counter-reality arises when you're accused of holding views you don't hold, and the only way to defend yourself is to show what those views actually look like. It's the forced entry into alternative reality to prove you don't live there. In online political debates, necessary counter-reality is a survival skill: when straw men abound, you must sometimes build the actual man to show the difference.

Example: "They kept calling her a communist, no matter how many times she explained her actual positions. Finally, she deployed necessary counter-reality: 'Let me tell you what actual communists believe. Here's Marx, here's Lenin, here's Mao. Now tell me where I've said any of that.' The counter-reality of actual communism exposed the lie. She hadn't chosen to enter that reality; they'd forced her there to defend herself."

1)A common phrase in the advertising world - which gives rise to interesting loopholes - which tends to mean that you need not make a purchase to be counted as a contestant in an event.

2)Also, generally is a lie and means if you don't purchase but wanter to enter a contest, they'll send you a form to make you "feel" like a contestant.

The Sprite "under the cap" game said "no purchase necessary" right on the bottle, so Justin and David opened up all the bottles in the store and kept only the winners.

Negatively-necessary

Something, someone, or some event that is so unnecessary that it becomes necessary.
It is effectively a way of allowing you to be a total dick, for no reason, and when questioned about your unnecessary outburst you can shrug it off as being negatively-necessary.
Negatively-necessary is in fact negatively-necessary itself.

Example 1
Marcus 'Wtf Ben why did you draw that dick and label it Marcus, what did I ever do to you?'
Richard 'Yeah dude, that was totally unnecessary.'
Ben 'It was so unnecessary it was negatively-necessary.'
Marcus 'Oh, fairplay.'

Unnecessary censorship has become so unnecessary it is now necessary for entertainment, unnecessary censorship is negatively-necessary.
