Irish slang for a fight, with 'dig' being another word for punch. Not spontaneous but somewhat pre-arranged between two people who have differences that can't be resolved in a civil fashion.
Cocker and Ronnie haven't being seeing eye to eye recently, they're going to have a digging match. It should be good, Ronnie has a fair dig on him.
