Location Dating

Dating someone just because of where they live, and/or are from. Usually to have a place to stay, or a reason to visit said town. Common among photographers, skiers, and outdoor types.
Guy: She's perfect, and she's from this town in northern Idaho where I've been wanting to go shoot forever.

Friend: So basically you're just location dating?

An alternative way to describe when your favorite television show goes on hiatus. Low-atus better represents the dreaded wait for an awesome show to return. It can also be used to describe any period marked by a long wait for something appealing.
The television show Fringe is currently on Lowatus and wont return until April.

locasumer

n. A locasumer is someone who consumes goods produced locally or shops locally. The individual has a sense of local self-obligation consumption whether or not it be for ecological, economic, or convenience reasons. Consumption of products or retail visits can be narrowed within a certain radius such as 5, 25, or 50 miles away.
Jack being a locasumer only buys his groceries at the local farmers market and always visits that mom and pop hardware store.
