If you notice the join dates on some of the users you'll realize that they have a different mentality from then and now .

Best described as a torrent of little children running around in a minefield (users), some armed with weapons (moderators), forums are the flagship of internet discussion, spam, and flame wars.
Smaller forums tend to be more habitable, but the larger ones have many distinct and similar features. For example, within approximately seven seconds of the creation of a topic, you will have at least one reply, garunteed. Large forums also tend to spawn makeshift caste systems within themselves, and you're automatically a malefactor in the forum until you have a 4-digit post count.
A forum can sometimes be helpful, but normally they become a time consuming and frustrating thing if you pay too much attention to them.

I got banned from that forum for being a n00b.

forum moderator

A member of a forum that has extra rights and abilities to "keep the peace" and enact the rules set forth by the website admin or owners. Is most oftentimes (98%) a nerd that got his ass beat in high school and feels that, through the only authority he will ever obtain, he must take it out on "normies" and the rest of the world, by enforcing pointless rules. Usually in real life, they don't do well in direct sunlight and can't backup any confidence in real life.

Usually forum moderators that follow the rules strictly or more than a passive/collected moderator are enormously boring in real life, but think they are interesting and liked because of their personalities on the internet world. They don't realize it's the same reason why people try to make "friends" with a police officer.

"I couldn't figure out why I didn't have any cool friends, so I became a forum moderator in order to take my pain out on the world."

City-Data Forum

A really piece of crap forum "moderated" by scumbags, including the senior moderators- as well as filled with realtors and low lives who will begin an argument out of nowhere. The wannabe moderators who in reality are loser users who are supported by the even more loser senior moderators will delete/close ANY thread they don't like or that they perceive as "trolling" material, like a thread about why Georgia has many places ending with A, there is absolutely no tolerance for humor and the rules are insanely stupid. Examples of rules: "no "I am leaving" threads, no threads about moderation in the "about the forum" category, no "specific city threads" in the U.S. general forum... And you can't close your account, the only way to get out of the shithole is to troll around until you get banned or ask the senior moderator to ban you and he will quickly assist you in your plea. Don't direct message them about moderators they will not do anything. Moderators are allowed to mock users and disrespect their threads but you can't even respond back to them at their public profile pages or they will give you an infraction.

Moderator deletes the thread- Reason: Trolling
"What's up with moderators here"
Moderator deletes the thread- Reason: DM the senior moderator on this matter, you are violating the terms of service by starting this thread.
To senior moderator: "I am not happy with the moderation here, etc. etc."
SENIOR MODERATOR DOES NOT REPLY BACK
To senior moderator: "Ban me please"

A few minutes later

"You have been banned from the forums"
Reason: per request
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Ex-member: Thank goodness I left City-Data Forum, what a f piece of shit site!
