cyberpunk

a literary genre that has nothing to do with the Matrix, being cool, or anime. it's a subgenre of sci-fi in which there is strong sense of helplessness, misery, dystopic ideals and loss of morality and/or humanity. corporations control the lives of their workers and reside in microcosms dictated by the status quo

blade runner, dark city and (to some extent) judge dredd & johnny mneumonic are examples of the genre.

Ahh yes Cyberpunk 2077, I remember when it first came out. Everyone was hyped about it and some didn't even knew why they were hyped. It was a massacre my son. Many hearts were broken.
They tried to make it up with Witcher 4 but damage was done and there was no turning back. Those were the last breaths of CDPR.
So called user friendly company did it's last mistake.

My favourite franchise even though sadly people only think of 2077 when I mention it which genuinely piss's me off especially because I love 2077 (Although there is a lot of things I expect to be in it which wasn't. :() yet it makes people think the whole franchise is shit, let's just hope cdpr make on hell of a comeback soon.

Cyberpunk Red

A shitfest tabletop game that functions like Dungeons and Dragons but runs on a d10 system, is unbalanced, most likely not playtested, horrible mechanics such as "auto-fire" and overall bad. Despite this, it is still fun to play. Despite the mental and possibly physical pain this TTRPG brings.

hyperreal cyberpunk

Cyberpunk aesthetic that is characterized by overexposure and contrapositive linearity (lines formed by self-referencing colors).

In contrast to postmodern cyberpunk in which lines are formed by deconstructed objects juxtaposed with each other and with a futurist ambience.

Chillwave a musical subgenre from 2001 is the first instance of hyperreal cyberpunk. It evolved to hypnagogic pop (dream pop) and finally vaporwave music and aesthetic.
