An item designed by a teacher in the 1800's as a punishment reserved only for his worst students. Now a requirement at most schools, requiring at the very least 1 hour to complete.

Jack: "What did you do last night"
Jill: "I had homework"
Jack: "What did you do to receive such large and horrible punishment?"
Jill: "I killed the teachers entire family"

Jack: "What did you do last night?"
Jill: "Played some video games."
Jack: "But what about homework!"
Jill: "I didn't do it."
Jack: "What do you mean! The teacher is going to kill your entire family now!"

A thing that teachers say will help you in the future because they're too lazy to try and teach in an interesting and memorable way. The only way to solve the problem is to be in a good school (like a democratic one), but good schools are rare.
