It's quite possible that Joran and co positioned themselves to "escort" NH to their car which she thought was a taxi by telling her.. here we got you a cab. Once inside it's a little too late to do anything. Carving isn't an American term it's one that was brought up on the news by one of the aruban locals.

goofing off, being silly, klutzy, messing up. Stems from common stereotype in pop culture of people failing at baking cakes, falling into them and destroying them, and/or cake ending up in the wrong person's face in silly food fights.
