I'm hungry as shit. Let's go walk on these sidewalk paths that make no sense and eat at the food yard. Hopefully the hamburger guy who yells a lot isn't there.

In lacrosse, one player stick-checks another, knocking his stick out of his hand. Usually followed up by a loud chorus of "YARD SALE!!!" or "Hey, how much for that stick?"
Player: "Dude, did you see that guy get Yard Saled?"
Player 1: "That guy just got wrecked!"
Player 2" "Hey, #43, how much for that stick?"

"I went to Allison's party last night and everyone was bored to death. It was a total yawn yard."
"The theatre for the premier to Jerry's independent film was a yawn yard."
Add emphasis to the scale of boringness by adding A's, saying a place was a "YAAAAWN Yard!"

People place used household items, clothes, etc. in their yard and offer them for sale. Usually held on a week end, a "yard sale" often involves one, or a few families who pool their unwanted items to sell, often very cheaply.
Parallel term: "Yard saliing." To drive about from yard sale to yard sale.

I bought this sweater at a yard sale for a dollar and a half.
