As described previously 'The antichrist, the reason music is dead'. They used to show Ok music up until recently when they've become more concerned with episodes of 'Pimp my ride' and re-runs of 'Newlyweds'. If you watch MTV you are no better than that 3 month old ribena stain on my carpet.

Get the MTV mug.a TV station that should be executed for the 1st degree murder of good music and the destruction of an entire generation of youths.
when it began in 1981, it was exactly what it said it was. a TV station dedicated to nothing but music videos 24/7. disco had just died and rock music was making a comeback.
MTV's main purpose was for rock bands to advertise their music to increase their concert ticket and record sales and it worked like a charm.
soon every rock band realized that making a video was the key to success and new videos were popping up every week.
this launched the careers of many then unknown bands like def leppard, U2, madonna, bon jovi, cyndy lauper, huey lewis, duran duran, billy idol, and etc.
fast forward to today and MTV is a billion and a half miles away from what it used to be.
today, it has little to nothing to do with music and it now serves as a social engineering propaganda machine for the liberal media that pied pipers young impressionable preteens and high school kids into their world of shallowness and immorality through their crappy reality shows.
it teaches young white suburban boys that they aren't cool unless they walk, talk, and act "ghetto" and to treat young girls as nothing but walking sex toys to be used and discarded after they've served their purpose.
it teaches young girls that they're losers unless they weigh under 90 lbs and aren't blond, rich, spoiled, materialistic, foul mouthed, and haven't given their first hummer at the ripe old age of 7.
it also teaches all kids to reject traditional norms, values, and morals in favor of debauchery, sleeze, shallowness, vulgarity, and lawlessness.

6 yr old walks up to his mom and says:
"mama, i'm gonna bust a cap in yo fat azz".
mom slaps the boy across the face and sends him to his room.
comes back 2 hrs later and asks him where he learned to talk like that.
he says 'MTV".

Get the MTV mug.Money To Viacom
A brand which was purchased by Viacom in the late 1990s, which was also around the same time MTV's complete identity began to change, leaving viewers feeling alienated from something that was once a big part of their lives. Generation Xers complain and write harsh negative definitions about this brand on urbandictionary, and they are all pretty much accurate. The only reason we don't see huge rebellions against the current MTV is because most Generation Xers are too old to really care anymore, and the younger generation doesn't know any different so they accept it.

Get the MTV mug.The new teenager generation, born into a culture dominated by 'Pop Media'. Modern Pop Media is the corporate driven marketing force behind the modern day MTVeenager's mentality and lifestyle.
The sum of an MTVeenager's concerns are as follows:
* Mobile Telephones and associated products (ring tones, wallpapers, etc)
* MTV and the latest chart music
* Hollywood produced "blockbuster" films.
* Clothes fashions (catering for both the mainstream and alternative markets (punks, goths) - both of which are equally as commercial as each other.
* Rebelling against Pop Culture (Please note, those who choose to rebel against Pop Media by dressing "alternatively" or listening to "alternative" music are equally as guilty of conformity as those who choose to embrace Pop Media.)
The greatest crime of the MTVeenager is living a lifestyle based upon the choices made by the market forces behind Pop Media and the approval of their own peers (See: Fashion), rather than through their own personal preferences.
You may find examples of the MTVeenager on this very website. Here follows a guide to spotting the breed:
(See: Metal) Notice users commenting on how certain bands are "not metal" and others are "real metal" (and those who choose to listen to anything else are clearly less capable of detecting musical ability within their preferred choice of music) - This behaviour is fuelled by the desire to purposefully not listen to mainstream music due to a need to seem more discering than their peers, a classic symptom of being an MTVeenager.
You will find the very same behaviour relating to all areas of the MTVeenager's culture. Their tastes are driven either by advertising or a desire to be a non-conformist. Therefore, we may assume that a vast proportion of all teenagers are MTVeenagers and are incapable of embracing their true personal preferences due to a desire to either 1) Conform to Pop Media or 2) Conform to "alternative" sub-cultures.
This leads us to conclude that our future adult generation is composed of the same unintelligent, socially inept, greedy, small minded and prejudiced people as of previous adult generations. Thankfully, this means we are in no danger of progressing the human race into more insightful ways of behaviour.
And yes, I do realise that this definition contains high levels of irony and hypocrisy, as I too am an MTVeenager like you.
