miserybaiting

Miserybaiting is the attempt to turn every conversation into something upsetting or sad, or off topic to discuss something horrible, no matter how neutral or positive the original topic and baiting people into being miserable, Especially if the original topic involved having fun.

A: "We had a great time on the rides at the amusement park last summer!"
"OH! Last Summer was SO HoT! Those poor ride operators must have been sweltering all day!"
"Stop miserybaiting! I refuse to feel bad for enjoying myself!"

B: example of miserybaiting:
Archeology show: Expert 1 discussing possible castle indicated by stones found on a hill: "During the time of "The Anarchy" in Britain, there was panic and castles were thrown up by landowners quickly in an attempt to defend themselves and their property."
Expert 2:"So, lots of forced labor...?"

Miserables

Uptight or miserable people (predominantly white girls) that make their perfect grades their whole personality. These people are usually on the borderline of being socially challenged either only really talking to people in their circle (wether that be people in their classes, school/college clubs, or in their sports groups) they're either incredibly nasty or aggressive towards anyone not in these groups due to their inflated ego. If they're not they're usually on the shy side. Most of these people tell you how to spend your life and grill you for not dedicating your life to the books. Whenever they do interact with normal people it's either to:
1- Give them answers for work in the class
2- Insult someone for their poor grade(s)
3- Grill someone who they find weird or abstract despite their own faults
These people usually think they're better than most people despite projecting their own misery onto others due to the stress they willing put themselves through with all these bullshit ass AP courses

"Yeah man you know that one girl in our class?" - Guy 1
"Yeah the one who was grilling you?" - Guy 2
"Yeah she's got some issues dude, I did nothing. She's miserable as hell for no reason." - Guy 1
"Word man, she's one of those Miserables. Those dumbasses love projecting their misery onto others. They're uptight as hell for no reason. Constantly stressing out over school LMAO" Guy - 2

Describes a low effort, emotionally draining, extremely pessimist piece of media, where characters have the worst outcomes imaginable causing them unintelligible anguish, with no other purpose but to cause suffering with no internal depth.
