Get the Chris Keinplanmug. Digging a hole, knowing you've already gone too deep but you keep digging because to stop would draw attention to your complete lack of knowledge, bad decisions and general failings.
First coined 1st August 2021 when UK Member of Parliament Chris Bryant was repeatedly and mercilessly burned on Twitter. Even long-time adversaries of the MP begged him to come off the social media platform after he alleged that Pinochet was a communist.
Undeterred, the MP went on to make such a fool of himself that the phrase "Doing a Chris Bryant" was used.

People looked horrified when I was painting people and dogs and cars, but I just had a Chris Bryant moment. I literally couldn't stop being a prick. I was waiting for someone to take the brush off me, but they never did."
