Tsunami Shaming

When someone is tsunami shamed, their problems, big or small, are shot down immediately on the premise of ''At least you haven't suffered a tsunami''. It's hard to tell whether this is supposed to be comforting or or whether the person is playing the douche on purpose.

Two examples of tsunami shaming:

John: Hey Bob, what's up?

Bob: It's been a rough week. My dog got hit by a car, one of my parents lost their job, and I got a cold just in time for the finals.

John: Yeah, well, at least your house isn't three miles from where it used to be. Toughen up.

Linda: I heard you were moving to an apartment, Jane.

Jane: Yeah, my family's house is getting foreclosed on, we have to be out within a month. The only place I can afford is really small and seedy. I feel more sorry for my kids than myself.

Linda: Stop bitching, a least they'll have a roof over their heads, UNLIKE THE TSUNAMI VICTIMS!!!

An unfortunate phenomenon in which people degrade or mock a person because he or she perspires more than most people in response to heat and humidity.

Guy 1: "hey look at that guy's back sweat, what a loser."

Guy 2: "dude it's hot out, stop sweat shaming him."

Act of using friendship to shame another person.

Simon says to his friends, "Let's get ramen." Vincent was not spoken to but he wants to go with Simon. Vincent friend-shames Simon by saying, "I thought you were my friend!" Vincent is friend-shaming Simon.

Making someone feel embarrassed for their snacking habits. Putting someone down for their desire to continuously eat snacks. Making fun of the quantity someone eats between meals.

Casey felt like Tali was snack shaming her when Tali called her out for pulling pretzels out of her bag after she had just eaten a sandwich.

E-mail Shaming

When fifteen thousand people are copied on an email alerting you, and them, of an error you made.

I was the recipient of e-mail shaming today at work. While I was out sick this week a new hire was approved in our internal system with an incorrect start date. They HR administrator emailed me and the rest of the company to let them know of the mistake and asked me to change it. I may get fired.

Creep-shaming

(Creep-shay-ming) v. The act of stopping a man’s unwanted advances by calling him or his actions “creepy.” That will usually stop a man’s efforts to fuck you cold for it is the worst thing a man could be called and is tantamount to a female being called a “slut” (i.e slut-shaming). Term also could be utilized by other men as a “ cock-blocking” device.

That guy kept bothering me, but I started creep-shaming him....and he finally left me alone.
