Latent defaulter

A latent defaulter is someone who visits a website because their default homepage is pre-set to that address, or are redirected to a particular website, through no action of their own. They do not purposely choose to visit the website but their visit is counted towards a website's traffic statistics, even though they may immediately leave the website.

When someone buys a new computer the installed browser has the homepage pre-set by default. When they open a browser window they automatically visit the website that has been pre-set. Alternatively when someone logs out of an email service, or instant messenger client, they can be automatically redirected to a particular website. These people are "latent defaulters".

Lateral Strike

a soft blow to the side of the head. A lateral strike has a very specific technique. One must flattened the hand & palm, and start with arm raised above the head. Strike downwards swiftly and in a circular motion towards target. Reduce all force prior to impact with target.

E.g. Everyone once in a while, people will give Chingy a lateral strike, to put him back in his place.

In Chilean slang, latero or latera they say when a situation, person or procedure is busy or bored, because they don't want to waste their time on that.

In philosophy class, a teacher hasn't stopped talking since starting the class about an hour ago. Then yawning Paula says "el profe latero"
