WONK

Used to denote people who are or assumed to be quite knowledgeable in at least one particular area of interest and have little or no known in person social life. Generally socially akward.

The current use of WONK is as an acronym popular in the "In" crowd. Possible meanings.

1. Without Normal Knowledge - Possible, but awkward.

2. Weird Ole Nerdy Kid - Has always fit the contexted in which it was used better.

In my experience the second is more probable.

Wonka

The term wonka is a term derived from the 1964 novel Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. The word has been taken out of context to describe the black race, hence calling them wonka's, as in chocolate. Its degree of offensiveness has increased markedly in recent years. Definitions 1a, 1b, and 2 represent meanings that are deeply disparaging and are used when the speaker deliberately wishes to cause great offense.

The word itself has become increasingly popular amongst the youth of today.
Wonka as the derogatory term was used in J.Flo's 2009 Album "On Da F-Block With My Wonkas".

1. Slang: Extremely Disparaging and Offensive.
a. a black person.
b. a member of any dark-skinned people.

"Fetch me water wonka!"

2. Slang term for homie, friend, buddy, etc., used primarily by African-Americans but has spread to other races as well.

"What's good my wonka?"
