Schadencarde

The feeling of looking at your second card in Holdem poker, which is something low and offsuit, after peeling the first card, which is an ace, or sometimes a king.
I peeled the ace of spades after an OMC opened, and felt such schadencarde when the other card was the six of clubs.

Schadeocracy

A system of political or social governance established and maintained by causing pain to others.

Derived from the German "scháden" meaning "to hurt" or "cause damage".

And the suffix "-cracy" derived from the Greek denoting a particular form of government, rule, or influence.

Think democracy, autocracy or plutocracy but with thumb screws.

Schadenfraud

When Reality TV manipulates you into feeling smugly superior to people who might not even deserve it based on what actually happened vs what made it to the final cut.
"I spent all night trashing that girl on the dating show for being a 'diva,' but then the unedited footage leaked and I realized I was just a victim of Schadenfraud."

"Don't get too excited about the villain's downfall in the season finale; the producers are definitely serving up some heavy Schadenfraud to make us feel better about ourselves."

"I feel like a total jerk now. I was drowning in Schadenfraud watching him fail, only to find out the show edited out the part where he actually saved a puppy."

"Reality TV thrives on Schadenfraud—they manufacture a mess just so we can sit on our couches feeling morally superior to people we’ve never met."

Schadé

Schadé
Definition:
The modern, short-form version of "Schadenfreude." It is the sharp, rhythmic spike of amusement or satisfaction one feels when witnessing a minor, "low-stakes" failure or an act of poetic justice.
Unlike its German predecessor, Schadé is punchy, slangy, and used for everyday "fails"—like someone acting too cool and then tripping over their own feet.
Pronunciation: \ SHAY-day \ (Rhymes with: café, ballet, or sashay).
• The Noun: "I felt a massive burst of schadé when the guy who cut me off in traffic got pulled over."
• The Verb: "Stop schadéing! It’s not his fault the cake collapsed... okay, maybe it’s a little funny."
• The Reaction: "Oof, total schadé."
Synonyms: Flop-joy, Karma-giggle, Shading.

Etymology:
A 2026 evolution of the German Schaden (damage) + Freude (joy). The "Freude" was dropped for brevity, and the "é" was added to distance the word from the Marquis de Sade and to give it a sleek, international flair.
Usage in the Wild:
• The Noun: "I felt a massive burst of schadé when the guy who cut me off in traffic got pulled over."
• The Verb: "Stop schadéing! It’s not his fault the cake collapsed... okay, maybe it’s a little funny."
