Posting off-topic or anger-inducing messages or posts on a social media or forum on purpose to cause anger and chaos. A person who does this often is called a troll. Often confused with pranking.

1. Mythological creature in Norwegian folklore.
Dangerous and eat people, but not too booksmart and can be outsmarted.
The troll lives in the mountains in caves and can be found lurking around the woods looking for people to harass, eat og demand stuff from.
The troll verys in height to being half the size of a grown up person to being 5-6 times the height of a normal person.
It's the latter one that is dangerous. The small trolls are just devious, backstabbing and like to tease (but often in kahootz with the bigger trolls).
In Norwegian folklore the bigger trolls are often depicted with a pinetree growing out of their nose.
This could be suggest that they are mystical woodcreatures from the underworld or something or just to demonstrate the size of them.
They also have a tail.
In older days, children in Norway were called trolls if them misbehaved.
2. People who provoce in discussionforums on purpose.

An internet troll is a person who has some internal bitterness and anger against the fact that in reality, they will never succeed.
"I'm going to Troll this intelligent person I can feel like I succeeded at something in my life, because I have nothing else in my life to be proud of."

A male, female, or mix who has nothing better to do than post comments on the internet that (he/she/it) believes will get a reaction and disturb the peace. They are usually fat, virgin, single, friendless, and smelly people who listen to Barbara Streisand.

1: Somebody who, whether out of boredom, obnoxious tendencies or simply having no life to speak of, causes trouble on a website (eg: by starting arguments deliberately). I know of a website which had to be shut down after some jerk-off started deliberately causing a fuss and turning the various members against each other.
2: A mythological creature often used in fairy-tales such as 'The Three Billy-Goats Gruff'. Generally depicted as humanoid but ugly and sometimes with animal-like fangs, claws or horns.

There's a troll in an old computer game I found who is scared of teddy-bear heads with arms and legs. The great woos.
