Refers to an unfortunate situation where someone who had begun exhibiting undesirable behavior that others had initially assumed was his "just going through a phase" actually does **not** eventually "taper off", but continues to display said distressing attitude/actions.
My teenage son started being really rude and mouthy at age 12, and our pediatrician had assured me that it was "merely a stage he was going through", and that "he'd outgrow it eventually". Well, that was over six years ago, and if anything the boy's behavior is even more sulkily-resentful and anti-social than ever --- looks like a phase-locked loop to me!

When someone experiences the sensation of fully going through a phase in literally a matter of minutes or hours.
joe: woah.
anne: what?
joe: for some reason i just spent the past half hour looking up stuff about star trek, but i think it's totally lame now.
anne: welcome to your 15 minutes of phase.

The most memorable and nostalgic phase of the video game media, Five Nights at Freddy’s. Usually happens mostly at around 2014-2016. From watching Markiplier’s, Jacksepticeye’s, or Cory’s gameplays, to fan game videos, jumpscare compilations, memes, how to make fnaf not scary videos, fan songs, and importantly: animations. You may feel like wishing to time travel back just to experience it all again.
This FNaF song by The Living Tombstone is the most nostalgic I’ve ever listened to during my FNaF phase. I can’t believe it I got to hear it in 2023 again.
