According to "Guppies book of surnames" now out of print. The name Hollister means: "Son of a female brothel keeper."

I must tell my mother what our name(Hollister) means.

Hollister Co.

a desperate attempt for abercrombie and fitch to move the masses of high schoolers out of A & F and into a more appropriate store. Clothes are overpriced, but not as overpriced as A&F. Basic attempt to milk the brand name for brand conscious Gen Yers. Representing the largest existing Baby Boom, since their parents generation, at estimates of between 60 and 90 million, the gen Yers have huge purchasing power. especially since they have mainly disposable income since most are still in middle/high school and also have access to their parents income. However border Yers and Xers do not want to be grouped along with them. A&F represents the older Gen Yers and younger Gen Xers. The youngin's were putting off the older consumers, Hollister helped herd the younger kids in another direction therefore keeping the older kids loyal to A & F.

typical shoppers include kids with too much disposable income who are concerned with brand and image.

A common store in malls most of em which has clothes that are WAAAAAY overpriced, and don't last that long. It sucks basically. Most people would love to agree.

"Dude, you shop at hollister? That place sucks!
"Yeah I did, your point?"

A clothing brand owned by Abercrombie & Fitch where teens who have yet to develop their own personal identity will go and shop. You can often expect to pay somewhat higher than average prices for significantly lower than average quality clothing.

"Excuse me miss Hollister 'model', do any of the jeans in this store come in halfway decent quality, or at least not totally ruined already?"

"No, why do you think they're so expensive?"

"Well... wait, that doesn't make any sense!!!"

a lame store for posers that, like abercrombie, smells like vomit (hollister cologne), employs social rejects with nice hair and faux tans, and sells fake vintage clothes with made-up events on them. except worse because when you're in there it feels like you're in a cave.

"jesus since when is there a cave attached to the mall?"

store that is overrated and overpriced. they sell 'surfer' clothing aka. hey everyone, let's pretend like we actually surf! it is very popular, i'll admit, but of course my friend once bought a sweater there and i've seen atleat 20 other girls in my school with it. personally, i'm hollister clothing-free and PROUD. also see "pungent purfume", "preps in disguise", and "jerks 'r us".

Stereotyped girl # 1: Like, omg -actually says, 'o.m.g.'-, guys let's go into hollister. all the hotties are in there! wow like omg, i love this store! let's blow our paychecks so we can look like zombies!

Stereotyped girl # 2: Omg you are so totally right! i want to look like i live in california even though i DON'T!

hollister co.

A store with hella cute clothing(sometimes)(well, most of the time), named after a city in cali. Not all that expensive. UNLESS u think u gotta shop at the front .>_<.
A store that some people diss if they don't shop there.

Some people at my school choose to base people on what they wear, like hollister co., my point of view, they are hella stupid.
