When an organization solicits competitive bids for a project, but they manipulate either the requested specifications or the judging criteria such that a pre-determined "winner" was in place all along, this is known as a wired deal.

When the Wikimedia Foundation needed office space for additional workers in January 2009, even though a competitive search for leased space was conducted, the fix was in, and a wired deal made sure that Wikia, Inc. (co-founded by the founder of the Wikimedia Foundation) got the rental contract.

Dusty Deal

An event that takes place that was super sketchy and you would rather never have the details discussed with your friends. You do not want the dust to ever be "brushed" off this story. The scenarios in which a dusty deal can take place are essentially limitless. A dusty deal is likely to occur after a night out with friends at the bars when attempting to pick up members of the opposite sex, who are typically less than good looking.

Guy #1- Hey, Mike did you take her home last night?

Mike- It was a dusty deal, I don't wanna talk about it.
