link filtering

The act of asking "What's this?" before opening a link sent by a friend using a communication medium, such as AIM or text. This implies to your friend that sent the link that you either don't trust them, or you think their links are not interesting, usually telling them not to send you another link again, no matter how awesome it is. Also the friend wouldn't want to spoil the fun, so it gets them angry.

When someone doesn't click on a link for fear of opening a website containing a virus.

Dave: Oh, I didn't click on it because I have link clicking aversion.
Mike: It said in the subject line that it was our wedding website and the email came from me. What is wrong with you?

Link War

On internet discussion and debate forums, a form of argumentum ad lapidem or argument of the stone used in response to another poster to dismiss that posters argument without review or consideration. Generally, this is done in response to posts that contain links to material that supplement, explain, and support the points of the poster providing the links. The responding poster has no valid argument for the material linked and dismisses it without review of the merits of the material.

His argument was shredded and all he could do was post Link War.
Into the Night could not respond intelligently to the post so he dismissed it all by declaring it was a Link War.
