The opposite of flexing. Wearing clothes that are extremely comfortable instead of fashionable.

comforting fiction

An untruth we tell ourselves, or tell others, to keep from having to face facts, and to ease us through hard times.

Just wash your hands and you'll be fine, warm weather will make it disappear, only old people can die from it... one comforting fiction after another could not disguise the truth that we were all in for a long, painful journey.

Comfort Queen

Any noun (person, place, or thing) that provides comfort to you over anything else. I.e, it makes you happier than any other person, place, or thing can.

Person 1: Hey, why is your pillow so old?

Person 2: It's my comfort queen, nothing else makes me as happy as it does.

Person 1: Damn... that's sad.

Comfort trash

Comfort trash, a term coined by me. The things lying around that you have no need of, but has been there so long that something feels wrong when it's gone or put in it's "proper place".

Can also be called comfort clutter for alliteration, but it feels wrong so, no.

P1: "Here, I'll put this in the cupboard for you."
P2: "No, I like that there, it's my comfort trash!"
