You and your friends are out on the town, you see your friend talking to a guy all night and you know nothing is going to happen between them. You lean over to your other friend and say, She's "savin' em"! haha

A subint is a person who is the "subject of interest" in a police or legal investigation. As opposed to the unsub, the subint is known to the authorities. They may or may not be a suspect, but are never a CI, who are referred to as such.

In Intelligence circles, this can also be used to refer to a person targeted by the intelligence agency for information collection.

Judas is a subint for the VIP murder, bring him in and let's find out what he knows.

Fritz is our subint, let's get some ears and eyes in his apartment.
