Schatzki Ring

Schatzki Ring - A Schatzki's ring is a ring of tissue that forms inside the esophagus, the tube that carries food & liquid to your stomach. This ring makes the esophagus narrow in one area, close to where it meets the stomach. It can make it hard to swallow (dysphagia) . You may feel like food gets stuck in your esophagus.

Named after "The Bling Ring", a gang that robbed the homes of celebrities in Hollywood in late 2008/early 2009. "The Bling Ring" is also the name of a 2013 film, based on the story of the gang.

short ringed

When calling someone's mobile phone and the caller is sent to voicemail after just one ring. If the phone was off, it would go to voicemail immediately. Short ringing means the receiver does not care to talk to the caller.

Friend 1: I was trying to call my girlfriend, but it went to voicemail after only one ring. I guess she doesn't want to talk to me.

Friend 2: Dude, you just got short ringed.

residue ring

When you put a cup with a drink inside on a surface, and then take it off. It leaves behind a ring-shaped formation of what you just drank. This is the result of spilling some of the drink over your cup a little bit, so some of the liquid trickles down the the bottom and stays there. Other times, it's because you shook the cup while it is still on the table, thus the liquid collects at the bottom part of the cup. After a while, it will leave a sort of dried up ring, except with the case of water, it usually evaporates. See water ring for cups with water. That dried up mess is what you call a "residue ring." Note that this can also happen with bowls, plates, pans, pots, aluminum cans, circular objects, etc. It is usually found at parties, messy houses, kitchens, and such.
