Standoffish

Unpleasant, usually for no good reason.

Someone that wasn't friendly with Louis XIII would always bark about/threaten with beatdown this or reserving the right to beat his ass that, always getting standoffish with him if they even thought he was going to do something they didn't like whether he had done it yet or hadn't (which doing something somebody doesn't like should give someone else the right to kill you, and nobody likes getting threats from an instigator, so nothing works out and no deals/compromises are made between the two unfriendly parties).

This is a nicer version of or a spin on the old phrase "Shit Sandwich". It is often used when your gambling win is small but nowhere near what you wanted, expected or needed to break even. It was coined by "Vegas Matt" a professional gambler from Las Vegas.

That bonus win was a total Sando it is less than the original bet.
