defense force

When people come to the defense of a product/company in order to defend their purchase/usage of said product and, in turn, their ego.
Bill: Christ, the PS4 is way expensive and there really isn't many good games coming out for it
Ron: Fuck you, if you can't afford it maybe you should stop working at McDonalds
Bill: Here comes the Sony defense force

-----

Jeremy: This band isn't how they used to be
Paul: Then stop listening to them, turn off your computer and stop having opinions that contradict mine.

Farva Defense

An internet forum self-image defense strategy. Used by someone has been clearly proven wrong, stupid, or idiotic on a forum over the course of multiple posts or threads. The person realizes how foolish they now look, and default to claiming their entire dialog was a troll. Even though they claim it was a troll, it is very clear and obvious that it was not, and they simply have nothing left to retort with.
Person A: "You are a dick"
Person B: "No, sir, YOU are a dick. Here is why, with facts"
Person A: "lol, trolled you good fucker!"
Person B: "Nice Farva Defense"

Hitler Defense

When someone uses a far more terrible act to lessen the perception of one's own terrible actions.
Sure Hitler killed 6,000, 000 Jews, but Stalin killed 20,000,000 of his own people, so what Adolf did wasn't that bad.
The IRS caught me cheating on my taxes , I'm going to try the Hitler Defense on them. Sure I owe $5,000 dollars, but hey, I'm no Wesley Snipes.

Doomsday Defense

The Doomsday Defense was the nickname given to the famous defensive of the American football team the Dallas Cowboys during their late 1960s - 1970s dynasty years. This defense was the backbone of the Cowboys' dynasty, which won two Super Bowls (VI, XII) and played in three more (V, X and XIII).

Often recognized as two different generations of the famed "Doomsday Defense". However, there is no agreed-upon definition of exactly when those defenses existed or who their members were, which is why you may see different listings of players and time periods. The original "Doomsday Defense" can generally be identified as the Cowboys' defenses from 1966 to 1975. "Doomsday II" had its heyday from approximately 1976 to 1982. "Doomsday III" was created in the 2009-10 season.

The first defensive player to win the Super Bowl MVP was linebacker Chuck Howley (V). Later linemen Harvey Martin and Randy White became the first (and only) teammates (co-MVPs) to win the award (XII).
