Zillenial

A micro generation of those born from 1993-1999.

Millenial popularly ends 1994-1996.
Gen Z popularly starts 1995-1997.

Zillenial is the cusps of those two.

Zillennials are the last years of Millennials and first years Generation Z with mixed traits of both generations. They are too young to relate to the core of Millennials but too old to relate to the core of Generation Z. Zillennials were 2000's kids and transitioned from teenagers to adults during the 2010's. The youngest in 2020 are 21 years old.

Technology evolution was a defining part of a Zillennial childhood. They grew up while technology was evolving from Analog to Digital, experiencing both worlds, opposed to millennials / generation z who typically only experienced one type.

Some of the various things Zillennials can remember are:

- Waiting at Barns & Noble as kids for the twilight books to release

- a World before social media / smart phones was popularized but too young to create social media so you had to lie about your birth years.

- the Popularization of smart phones during their years in middle and/or high school (2008-2016)

- Using Gameboy Advance / Advance SP / DS during their childhood

- When "Crank Dat" by Soulja Boy came out in 2007

- The Release of the first iPhone in 2007

- Watching early YouTubers like: Fred, early nigahiga, Nalts, thewinekone, Daxflame, early smosh

- Being too young to understand or remember 9/11, but being born before it.

Any individual born between 1995-2000.

Nobody knows whether they’re a millennial or gen Z so we settled on the next best thing.

Zillenial

Micro-generation or sub-generation of people born between 1993-1998 (the most widely accepted date range). This micro-generation, as well as others, is the most accurate way to divide generations, because generations are not linear but transitional, they don't end overnight from one year to another, that doesn't make any sense.

This cuspy group doesn't relate completely neither with 80's Millennials nor with 2000's Gen Z'ers, because of their mixed nature (having traits of both generations). They were born and grew up at the same time as the World Wide Web (Internet), so they don't have memories of the pre-Internet world, but they do have memories of the world before being completely absorbed by the Internet.

The Zillenials spent most of their childhood years in the 2000's decade, so they were shaped by it.

They most certainly have Cuspers or Gen X'ers parents born in the 60's and 70's, unlike 80's Millennials who most certainly have Baby Boomer parents born in the 50's, so the world view of Zillenials is less conservative and more open minded, and therefore more prone to adopt "Woke" ideology.
Even though they formally belong to either the Millennial or Z generations, according to Anglo "think tanks" Pew Research Center (using 1981-1996) or Resolution Foundation (using 1981-2000), most of Zillenials view themselves as a separate generation, with certain characteristics that make them different from the rest of Millennials or Gen Z'ers,

-Tom: "I'm a Zillenial"
-Amanda: "A Zillenial? what's that?
-Tom: "Those of us born around 93-98"
-Amanda: "But those born in 93-96 are Millennials according to Google"
-Tom: "Nah, we are Zillenials, that 81-96 range was made by old Boomers who don't understand us 90's babies"
-Amanda: "LOL! OK i get it, you don't relate to 80's babies"
-Tom: "Exactly"

Zillennial

Zillennial is a generation that people were born in between 1993-2003. If you’re an early Gen Z that can relate to both Gen Z and Millennial, you’re Zillennial. If you’re a late Millennial that can relate to both, you’re Zillennial. Most people say the Millennial years are between 1981-96, but others say 1982-2000 because the 21st century and 3rd millennium started in 2001, and people that were born BEFORE 2001 was around during the first year of y2k and before 9/11.

Friend: What Generation Am I?
Me: What Year Were You Born?
Friend: 2000
Me: Technically Gen Z AND Millennial, because some say Millennial ended in 2000, and others say it’s 3 years after the start of Gen Z. If you can relate to both millennials and Gen Z, then you’re a Zillennial.

Zillennials

A microgeneration of people who were born near the cutoff date between Millennials and Gen Z (1996-2001) and feel too young or too old for both generations. They reached adulthood and graduated high school in the 2010s and spent their childhood during the transition from analog to digital technology. Zillennials are generally viewed as those who were born before 9/11. They were too young to be in K-12 education during 9/11 but too old to be in K-12 education during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
