Alan Yuan

One of the most common names among ABCs (American Born Chinese). Usually the name for a boy. There have been some reports of girls being named as Alan Yuan in places like Shanghai or Ohio.

The Alan part is a common name but Yuan is the currency in China.

Another definition is if someone pulled an "Alan Yuan". It means they did something entirely stupid even when they were aware of doing it.
