Another word for junk mail or junk e-mail.
It's called "spam" because no one really likes spam (the canned meat stuff), and no one really likes junk mail.

Bob: Dang I hate spam.
Lara: Oh, I like it.
Bob: You mean that canned meat stuff?
Lara: Yeah.
Bob: Umm... I was talking about the junk mail stuff.
Lara: Ohh, right. Gotcha.

1. in a chat room: repeting what someone else has already said or coppying and pasteing the same line over and over

2. in e-mail usualy consisting of adds for penis enlargement, the "best" porn on the web or fake rolexes or simmilar to these

any unwanted or unwelcome advertisements that are sent over the internet, usually in the form of an e-mailand usually in excess.

the term is believed to have orignated form a show call, "monty python's flying circus", during a certain sketch about a resturant that served spam (the canned meat) with all of its meals. it was unwanted and excessive, just like the e-mail.

ugh... i wish this spam would go away.
