Skywaters

Mythical firmament of water above the earth that makes the sky blue. A literal translation of the Hebrew word שָּׁמַ֖יִם 'shamayim', usually translated as 'heavens' in English Bibles. Most notably used in Genesis chapter 1, in the first of the two creation stories included in those early chapters. Of course we now know that above the sky is space, but in space there are great expanses of gas and dust in the nebulae that form stars and galaxies. So 'skywaters' is still a fun and useful word to describe stuff up there that we don't quite understand.

In the beginning, God created the skywaters and the earth.

Skrato

A term used to say “hello”, “how are you” or to show agreement depending on the situation, mainly used by an increasing number of gangs in Tyrrelstown, Dublin, Ireland. Not saying this is an offence to many revolving around the area. Can be pronounced as Skrah-toe or Skrah-taw.
It is sometimes used to say “calm down” when someone is about to brawl.

Example 1:
Gang member 1: Ey Skrato, grabbing some creps at the garm shop?
Gang member 2: Skrato , let’s drive.

Example 2:
Gang member 3: *gets angry and starts to brawl*
Gang member 4: oi SKRATO !
