Daywalking

Daywalking, verb.

The action of staying up all night and not sleeping during the next day for the purpose of completing work. Does not refer to the same action for social purposes.

Called daywalking (rather than nightwalking) due to the active person being functional and commonly seen at opening hours of breakfast establishments.

Person 1: "Why did you text me at 5:30 AM?"
Person 2: "Sorry, I'm daywalking and I thought you had red bull."

jay~walking

(verb) When you decide to yourself "aw f**k the man, I'm going to smoke a joint and take a nice long stroll." If you go on such an outing, it is advised to go sometime during the odd hours of the night/early morning when no one is around. This of course insures the full enjoyment of set stroll without the needless worry of attracting any unwanted attention.

After a long day of classes, papers, and general BS, I decided that it was time to go jay~walking. At around 3 AM, I set out to find my campus had turned into a complete ghost town. As I strode along uninterrupted I was able to take in everything around me without the fear of being apprehended by any pestering bystanders or worse, the authorities.

When you cross a street and you are not suppouse to, can be in the middle of a block or in red light.

I don't do jay walking in that street, is very dangerous.

JKwalking

When someone starts to jaywalk- but changes their mind halfway through, then proceeds to turn around and walk back to where they started.

Ugh, I hate it when I drive downtown and see people JKwalking.

verb - The act of giving someone a ticket for jaywalking.

"I be crossin' and the sign says 3 seconds left. Motha' fuckin' po-po be hidin' in the alley jaywalketing, jumped out, and gave me a forty dolla ticket. Shit."

Jay walking

The trajectory of a pedestrian illegally crossing a large thoroughfare against incoming traffic.

When you cross a street with lots of incoming traffic, you will walk parallel to the flow of traffic and in a direction opposite to it. Then, when you see an opening, you will turn and dash through the other side anticipating (hopefully) the incoming vehichles. Seen from above, your trajectory takes the shape of the letter J, hence the expression "Jay walking."
