Humanitarian Defense

From the roots, defend + human; Humanitarian Defense is the taking of proactive action to defend human rights and the lives and well being of people. Humanitarian defense actions go beyond simply providing aid, medical treatment and supplies to victims, they take action to prevent and/or reverse the actions that caused the victimization. These actions may take the form of the direct protection of people, the building of programs and offering support to people/governments on the verge of victimization and bold actions to help victims recover from derogatory events. Term credited to the international non-profit, non-governmental organization; Humanitarian Defense Inc.
A Humanitarian Defense operation is one in which an organization, group or government intervenes on behalf of a group of innocent people that are being attacked, victimized or killed and takes direction action to stop said actions.

Desktop humanitarian

An individual that will regularly receive emails from advocacy groups or occasionaly come across the archetypical charitable donation resource online and will contribute- in trivial amounts, typically- for a do-gooding sense of self-righteousness and to justify any activist-related shpeel they might regularly give in front of friends/family/colleagues in order to appear more altruistic. They usually do not research what/where they are sending their money to and only pay attention to the ethos or appearance of the advertisement/website involved in receiving the donation, only contributing to the ones that look worthwhile (i.e., emaciated children, dying puppies, etc.).
Person 1: "Are you aware of the level of animal mistreatment and cruelty that goes on in America on a daily basis? It is horrible, unnecessary, and we need to do something about it- you should donate to the animal liberation front like I do so that their righteous cause can end these atrocities!"

Person 2: "The animal liberation front, the ALF? While they have fairly good-natured intentions, you do know that they are classified as a terrorist organization and that they regularly seek out biomedical animal research laboratories at universities to vandalize and sabotage? And all for the sake of setting a few mice or rats free- animals that were being used to help find cures for serious human diseases like Alzheimer's, cancer, and Parkinson's disease. Furthermore, they often go after the heads of the labs- professors and PhDs- by putting bombs under their cars or targeting their families at home, among other things...just to save some animals! In my opinion, animal research is an unfortunate caveat of the far greater good that is medicine, so it is a necessary practice in science. I'm sorry, but their cause just does not sound like something I want to help out with."

Person 1: "Typical nihilistic excuse for being cheap. Everyone else is doing something! Don't be so selfish!"

Person 2: "Fucking desktop humanitarian."

Weapons are humanitarian aid — A perfect example of neo-doublespeak in the tradition of “fake news”, “perfect phone call”, “alternative facts”, and “peaceful tourist rioting with Confederate Flags”.

A most dystopian 21st century reality perhaps illustrating the idea that we really are living in the Kālī Yuga — The Dark Age.

When compared with statements like:

Rice is humanitarian aid
Wheat is humanitarian aid
Digging fresh water wells is humanitarian aid
Offering safe effective and free vaccines is humanitarian aid
Safe and affordable housing is humanitarian aid.

it is easy to see the dark irony of the Orwellian neo-doublespeak statement: weapons are humanitarian aid.

How does this measure up to offering people: food, water, shelter, political asylum, or potential citizenship.

Is it surprising that in an era where gun violence is the number one cause of death among young people in America today; that, we want to export this “largess” all over the world — perhaps as a Swift-ian “modest proposal” to solving the worldwide refugee crisis.

If weapons are humanitarian aid; then WE ARE ACTUALLY AT WAR.

Which would actually be a much more honest and straightforward statement.
Weapons are humanitarian aid. if this statement is true; then, we are actually at war and we should just stop bullshitting about it.

True humanitarian

Someone who always gives their all in everything they do. Continually strives to get ahead soley for the benefit of those they love. Even if it means working two full time jobs. A person that never turns a blind eye to someone in need and does there best to help even when they are not asked for help. A person that is there for you no matter what. You can depend on them 24-7 365 and they will never say no to you unless they are obligated to something else. The kind of person that can make even the angriest person smile at the time of fury. Every life they touch in any way will improve with at least some significance. A person who treats people like people and animals like animals not the other way around. A person who when they commit to something will always follow through and never let you down. Someone who will always accept responsibility for what they've done but NEVER expect credit or praise for who they are. A person who is kind, caring, empathetic, honest, moral, genuine, communicative, understanding, compromising, charitable, calming to be around, an amazing listener and never judging.
Everyone loves Paul because he's a true humanitarian.

garbage humanitarian

Noun - Someone who is trying to save the world by donating to charity and reducing their plastic use with a reusable water bottle, but still buys McDonald’s or Fast Food and an occasional item or two from Amazon or Walmart.
Evangeline was fully aware she’s being a garbage humanitarian, but the guilt is not enough to keep her from snacking on her favorite Chicken Filet Nuggies, waffle chips and Poly Sauce in the employee parking lot of the Non-Profit Corporation where she works. I’m no bigot or homophobe! I’m just HUNGRY! No one will really know. Who cares.
