Jolson Disciples

An upstart street gang hailing from the suburbs of Las Vegas, mainly Henderson and Summerlin. The "JD's" (pronounced yay-dees) are a predominantly white gang specializing in the sale of counterfeit drugs and stolen fast food gift cards. Allegedly founded by late vaudvillian Al Jolson, the JD's motto is "en al confiamos" (trans. "in al we trust").
I was thinking about pledging the Latin Kings or maybe the MS-13, but when the Jolson Disciples made me an offer, I felt like the prettiest girl at the dance!

A term originally refering to the followers of Christ Jesus. They were frequently refered to as the brothers. Just as your "brothers" are your posse and are always near you, so also Jesus' posse was always with him--learning and growing from what he had to say.

Now, the term can refer to anyone who follows the teachings of another. It is a word that combines the definitions of student and follower.
